Join Lanny Mackenzie & Sally Blackwell, both keen fibre artists and well-known basket weavers, with their ‘re-use, recycle, waste-not’ philosophy, in a comprehensive 2-day weaving workshop.
In this weekend workshop, participants will learn twining and cord making skills using natural grasses and materials from the Rosby property. Sally & Lanny will teach participants techniques of preparation and drying natural materials, starting a basket, different twining and cording methods and then advancing to free-form twining. The workshop includes a discussion of sculptural shapes and embellishments - weaving doesn’t always have to end up as a basket!
This workshop is ideal for beginners but also will benefit everyone interested in the gentle art of weaving using natural materials. It is the most amazing feeling when you create something so personal, beautiful and unique.
All materials will be provided, limited numbers per workshop. Book in early to secure your place.
